Fourth man charged after Wynyard stabbing, NSW

A fourth man has been charged following an incident where a man was allegedly stabbed during a fight in Sydney’s CBD this week.

About 6pm on Thursday 5 November 2020, emergency services were called to a licensed premise on York Street, Wynyard, after reports a man was stabbed during a fight.

Police will allege five men became involved in an argument with staff where an employee, a 34-year-old man, was stabbed. The men then fled the scene.

The employee was treated for wounds to his back and side, before he was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for surgery, where he remains in a stable condition.

Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation with three men arrested nearby. Three men, aged 31, 29 and 19 were charged and remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, a 26-year-old man was arrested at St Mary’s Police Station about 10.30am today (Saturday 7 November 2020).

He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of others and affray

He was granted conditional bail and is expected to appear in Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 11 November 2020.
