Frankston police investigate Moorabbin and Frankston collisions

Frankston police are investigation following two separate collisions in Moorabbin and Frankston last night.

The first collision occurred at the intersection of Sullivan Street and South Road in Moorabbin.

It is alleged a black Volkswagen Tiguan was travelling on South Road when it collided into the rear of a stationary vehicle just before 6pm.

The driver of the Volkswagen stopped and spoke with the other driver before driving off.

At that point, the Volkswagen had sustained minor damage to the front of the vehicle.

Officers responded to reports of a second collision almost one hour later on Cranbourne Road in Frankston.

It is believed the same black Volkswagen that was involved in the earlier collision in Moorabbin, collided with a blue Honda CRV wagon near the intersection of Karingal Drive about 7pm.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and had to be towed from the scene.

The driver of the Volkswagen, a 28-year-old Langwarrin man, returned an alleged evidentiary breath test of 0.160.

He is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving and other traffic related offences.

The driver of the Honda, a 70-year-old Sommerville man and his 70 year old female passenger, were not physically injured.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who may have sighted the black Volkswagen Tiguan between 5pm and 7pm travelling between Elsternwick and Frankston to contact them.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage of the vehicle is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
