Free events, music and food this summer

The City of Whittlesea’s Summer Series program is back with a program of free events right across the municipality during January and February.

This year’s program features live music, food trucks, markets and even a world kitchen with family friendly activities, as well as music and activities for all ages.

Chair Administrator Lydia Wilson said the popular event program was a wonderful way to bring fun and entertainment to local areas.

“The City of Whittlesea is such a diverse municipality, so the summer series enables us to bring to life so many different locations with music, food and activities,” she said.

“I’d encourage everyone to enjoy what’s on offer in their local area this summer.”

The City of Whittlesea Summer Series kicks off on Friday 20 January with a twilight event at Donnybrook’s Gumnut Park in Olivine Boulevard from 5pm to 8pm.

Featuring twilight music and children’s activities highlights will include music from The Bandwagon and crowd favourite bubbles from Dr Hubble with Shared Cup café open for meals, drinks and snacks.

Events are also planned for Doreen on 10 February, various locations on 18 February and Lalor on 25 February.
