Free public transport to Royal Canberra Show

The Royal Canberra Show returns to Exhibition Park in Canberra (EPIC) in Mitchell from Friday 23 until Sunday 25 February 2024.

Free travel on Transport Canberra bus and light rail services is included in pre-purchased tickets for the show.

Rethink your routine and take free public transport or use Park and Ride to connect with a rapid bus or light rail service. Alternatively, explore active travel options such as walking, cycling or scooting to the show.

Light rail services operate between Gungahlin and the City every 5 to 15 minutes. In addition to these regular services, light rail will operate at an increased frequency on Saturday and Sunday as follows:

  • Saturday 24 February – every 10 minutes between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm, every 7.5 minutes between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm, and every 10 minutes between 6:00 pm and 10:30 pm.
  • Sunday 25 February – every 10 minutes between 9:00 am and 5:30 pm.

Event road closures

Flemington Road is closed between Randwick Road and the Federal Highway at the following times:

  • Friday 23 February 2024 from 7:30 am to 10:00 pm
  • Saturday 24 February 2024 from 7:30 am to 10:00 pm
  • Sunday 25 February 2024 from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm.

Changes to bus services and Park and Ride

Transport Canberra bus route 18 will be diverted from the first service on Friday 23 February 2024 to the last service on Sunday 25 February 2024 due the closure of Flemington Road. Bus services will travel via Morisset Road and Old Well Station Road in both directions. No bus stops will be missed.

The EPIC Park and Ride facility will be closed from 7:30 am Friday 23 February until 7:30 pm Sunday 25 February 2024. Alternative Park and Ride facilities are available at Well Station Drive and Swinden Street. The EPIC Park and Ride will be reserved for mobility parking permit holders, with access via the Federal Highway.
