Further arrests follow Tailem Bend seizure

An investigation into a drug seizure at Tailem Bend earlier this month has resulted in further arrests.

Police located three kilograms of methamphetamine, three litres of meth oil, 14 grams of cocaine, 4000 ecstasy tablets and $35,000 cash on Thursday 18 January and charged a 48-year-old Sellicks Hill man with drug trafficking and money laundering.

Following investigation into the drug seizure, police today arrested a 45-year-old Gilles Plains man and charged him with two counts of trafficking in a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug, trafficking in a controlled drug and money laundering in connection with the Tailem Bend seizure. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday 1 February.

A premises at Prospect was also searched today as part of the investigation and 48 pounds of packaged cannabis was located and seized.

A 37-year-old Prospect woman was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled drug. She was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 1 May.
