GBH investigation at Moranbah

Moranbah detectives are appealing for public assistance after a 47-year-old man sustained serious injuries following an overnight assault.

Preliminary investigations suggest the man was assaulted at an unknown address in Moranbah before being transported in his own vehicle- a 2003 red Holden Commodore utility with Queensland registration 162 WHV- to his home address at around 7pm (September 30).

The man driving the vehicle then left the area.

The 47-year-old man was transported to Moranbah Hospital by family members before being airlifted to Mackay Hospital.

Police are appealing for public assistance in relation to anyone who may have seen the man’s vehicle being driven along Mills Avenue last night (Wednesday, September 30).

The vehicle is red, with a red coloured hard tonneau cover and black mag wheels (see images) and has a loud exhaust.

Police are also appealing for witnesses or motorists with dashcam footage who travelled along Mills Avenue between 6 and 7.50pm to contact them.

Investigations are continuing.
