Global Victoria partner with Victory to support women’s global engagement

Victoria’s Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events, the Hon. Martin Pakula announce yesterday support for Melbourne Victory’s participation at the inaugural Asian Football Confederation Women’s Club Championship in Korea Republic at the end of this month.

The partnership supports Global Victoria’s ambition to support more women to connect and engage with global opportunities

Melbourne Victory will make history as the first Australian club to play in a round-robin format, featuring a team from China, Japan and tournament hosts South Korea – all key trading partners of Victoria. The eventual group winners will end up lifting the crown of the tournament.

Support for the women’s team will come via the Victorian Government’s international engagement agency and leader in Asian engagement, Global Victoria. With the largest network of international offices than any other state in Australia, Global Victoria have 22 Trade and Investment offices or VGTI’s, 12 of which are located in Asia.

Global Victoria aim to use sport as a platform for deeper engagement to share experiences and develop new friendships with our Asian neighbours, while supporting women to engage globally and take on the world and stronger social and economic outcomes for Victoria.
