Kingston’s annual arts grants will help boost our thriving local arts scene with eight projects approved for funding support.

Kingston Mayor Hadi Saab said Council was keen to support the local arts industry by investing in local arts projects for the entire community to enjoy.

“We’re proud to be building a really strong creative community right here in Kingston,” Cr Saab said.

“In addition to running a host of arts programs, performances, and activities through Kingston Arts venues, we also want to support local artists to get new projects off the ground.

“This year’s arts grants support a wide range of projects from a podcast and public art displays right through to art exhibitions, theatre performances and a children’s book.

“We have a wonderful community of creative businesses and artists developing a buzzing arts and culture scene, so I encourage everyone to get involved by seeing a local show, enjoying public art or supporting local arts businesses.”

  • A multi-media performance by artist Judith Dodsworth
  • A Podcast showcasing Kingston in Australian television by Scott Goodings
  • A mosaic project with local schools Yarrabah and Kilbreda led by artist Kimberly Taylor
