Bundaberg’s IMPACT Community Services Limited, and Oldies Angels Inc are among 47 state-wide recipients sharing more than $1 million in Social Enterprise Growth Grants that help disadvantaged and vulnerable Queenslanders.
More than $1 million in funding for 47 recipients has been announced in the final round of Social Enterprise Growth Grants (SEGG) for 2022-23 that help disadvantaged and vulnerable Queenslanders.
Examples of how the Social Enterprise Growth Grants will be used include:
- Gunggandji Aerospace’s Sharing the story of Non-Traditional Pathways project, which will use its grant funding to engage with local Indigenous communities, to promote employment and training opportunities in the aerospace industry.
- Cape York Institute’s Website Improvement project will use grant funding to significantly improve their Mayi Market online store, making it easier for remote Cape York communities to access deliveries of fresh food.
- The Baking Bunch’s Production and Productivity Improvement project, will use funding to purchase kitchen equipment and enhance the sales and growth of its commercial baking business, which provides paid work and training for people with intellectual disabilities.
Almost 120 recipients have benefited from more than $2.5 million in Palaszczuk Government funding across three funding rounds of the Social Enterprise Growth Grants program.
The grants are part of the broader, $8 million Social Enterprise Jobs Fund.

“I’m delighted to see IMPACT Community Services Limited receive a grant for its Clean Start project.
“It provides support services, programs and employment for marginalised and disadvantaged people throughout the Wide Bay, Burnett and Discovery Coast regions.
“IMPACT operates two social enterprises, Impact Recycling and New Image Laundry, with Queensland Property Linen Services (QPLS) which provides employment opportunities to disadvantaged people through cleaning and property/yard maintenance services.
“Funding will be used to purchase advanced cleaning and yard maintenance equipment, to expand the services of Queensland Property Linen Services into the real estate industry.
“Oldies Angels Inc, which operates the Angels Mini Mart and Second 2 None social enterprises is also a welcome grant recipient.
“Angels Mini Mart sells low cost groceries which would otherwise be sent to landfill, and provides donated staples such as bread, fruit and vegetables free to people in need. The Mart also provides emergency hampers, and school lunches for children who do not have lunch on a regular basis.
“Second 2 None is a second hand store selling donated furniture, clothes and other unwanted items to people in need.”
