Great Southern Development Commission CEO acknowledged for substantial contribution to region

  • Great Southern Development Commission CEO Bruce Manning thanked for his decades of service to the region
  • Natasha Monks appointed new as CEO
  • Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan has today paid tribute to outgoing Great Southern Development Commission CEO Bruce Manning after 20 years in the role.

    Under Mr Manning’s leadership the Great Southern Development Commission has driven a substantial diversification of the region’s primary production and economic base.

    The State Government has appointed Natasha Monks the new Commission CEO.

    Ms Monks has most recently served as Australia’s Trade Commissioner to Peru and brings considerable knowledge and experience in business development.

    Mr Manning will transition to the role of Commission Chair to oversee the continued development of the Great Southern and to assist the new CEO.

    As stated by Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan:

    “Bruce has become a legend in the Great Southern.

    “He has built strong networks and initiated the development of some very significant projects in the region. He will continue to shape the future of the Great Southern as the Commission Chair, and particularly assist the new CEO.

    “Natasha brings strong leadership credentials and a global business perspective that will ensure the Commission continues to lead the way in delivering the McGowan Government’s commitment to regional diversification, economic growth and local jobs.”
