Griffith festival connecting youth

Young people in Griffith will be celebrated on Friday 21 April 2023 when the ConnectYOUth Festival kicks off.

Bring your friends or make new ones at this free festival for ages 12 to 24 being held as part Youth Week 2023.

Youth Week began as a NSW Government initiative in 1989, and has since grown to be a celebration of young people in every state and territory across the country.

It is organised by young people, for young people, in communities.

You’ll enjoy a great line up of entertainment and activities at the Griffith Regional Sports Centre kicking off from 3pm.

Griffith Mayor, Councillor Doug Curran Youth Week is an opportunity for young people to express their ideas and views, act on issues that affect their lives, and create and enjoy activities and events.

“Our new Youth Action Group is really excited to be able to present this event,” said Councillor Curran.

“As the name suggests, ConnectYOUth is about encouraging young Griffith people from all walks of life to make new connections.

“I hope that youth support this event. It should be a really great afternoon.”

ConnectYOUth Festival Event Coordinator Lara Rossetto is excited to be able to present the festival.

“We wanted to give Griffith youth a relaxed, free event where they could come along just chill or get involved,” she said.

“We’ve got some really good acts lined up. I can’t wait to see everyone there!”

Come along and enjoy this fun-filled afternoon including local markets stalls, sport competitions, with prizes up for grabs, food and ice blocks provided and OMG Donuts will also be available.
