Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following a theft and subsequent deceptions in Hampton Park last month.
Investigators have been told the victim, an 80-year-old Hampton Park woman, left her hand bag at a bus stop outside a Hallam Road shopping centre after boarding a bus about 4pm on 19 July.
During the rest of the afternoon bank cards from within the purse were used to make several un-authorised transactions.
Detectives have released CCTV images of a woman who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
She is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged in her early 20s, with dark shoulder length hair and a skinny build.
