The Department of Veterans’ Affairs is undertaking a review of its dental program with the aim of ensuring it is meeting the present and future needs of the veteran community.
The program, for which every dentist is registered if they hold a valid, current Medicare provider number, provides dental services such as regular check-ups and cleaning, treatments for cavities and dentures to eligible veterans who will present a Gold or White Card for treatment to participating dentists.
Currently open and running until Friday, 18 December 2020, the review gives dental providers a chance to have their say on the dental program with the DVA seeking “feedback from those on the front line who can give unique and realistic perspectives on how DVA’s dental program may be improved.”
The DVA is keen to understand how well the program works for its clients but is not considering the issue of dental fee setting which it says must be considered within a broader context of dental and allied fees.
