Hawkesbury Sister City Association Cultural Exchange program application deadline extended

Hawkesbury Sister City Association applications extended 1Hawkesbury students who will be in Year 9, 10 or 11 in 2024 are invited to apply for the Hawkesbury Sister City Association Cultural Exchange program.

Students who apply must either live or go to school in the Hawkesbury Local Government Area. An information evening will be held on Wednesday, 1 November at the Deerubbin Centre, Windsor at 7pm. The application deadline for the Hawkesbury Sister City Association Cultural Exchange program has been extended to Tuesday, 7 November.

Selected students will have the chance to travel to Kyotamba in Japan or Temple City in California, USA for three to four weeks in September/October and be hosted by a local family involved in the exchange program. Students will attend school a couple of days a week in their host country and be treated to some cultural experiences and sightseeing.

In return, the Australian student’s family will host a family from these cities in July/August. The overseas students will go to school two to three days a week. On the other weekdays, the Hawkesbury Sister City Association Committee will take the students sightseeing around the Hawkesbury, Sydney and Canberra.

Student activities are funded by the host city, selected students are only required to pay for is their airfare, travel insurance and provide their own spending money.
