Yarra Ranges Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following a serious assault in Healesville early this morning.
Police have been told two groups of men were involved in an altercation, in a carpark at the intersection of River and Church street, when the teen was injured about 3.20am.
The Diamond Creek boy has been airlifted to a Melbourne hospital in an induced coma.
