Health Dashboard update 26 June

Sarah Courtney,Minister for Health

The health, safety and wellbeing of Tasmanians is the Government’s number one priority as we continue through the recovery phase of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The latest Health Dashboard is beginning to show the anticipated impact of the pandemic on our health system performance.

The month of March showed a downturn in emergency department presentations and number of patients admitted, as well as Ambulance dispatches.

It is expected that Tasmania will see further increases in waiting lists, with disruptions continuing in the way some clinics and services are able to be delivered.

Tasmanians can be assured we will continue to work hard on delivering health services as we move into the recovery phases and the situation continues to evolve.

We have seen a number of significant new initiatives put in place recently to drive greater access to care, including a new hospital in the home service in the South, significant boosts to THS telehealth capacity and new paramedics recruited for the North and North West.
