Help shape infrastructure in your suburb

The ACT Government has consultation open on a range of great suburban infrastructure projects across the city, giving Canberrans the chance to shape even better neighbourhoods.

“Work is underway on our biggest ever build of suburban infrastructure, so we’re asking Canberrans to tell us what’s important about new local shops, recreation parks, dog parks and more,” said Minister for Transport and City Services Chris Steel.

“This program is part of our election commitment to deliver better suburban infrastructure to support local jobs and create vibrant public spaces across our city. We know Canberrans are passionate about their local community facilities, so now’s the time to have a say.”

Consultation is open on four major playground upgrades in the following suburbs:

  • Aranda
  • Chisholm
  • Ngunnawal
  • Gordon

Canberrans can also provide feedback on improvements at:

  • Tuggeranong foreshore
  • Casey recreation park
  • New bridges at Umbagong district park

More playground upgrades and new dog parks will also be built in the north and south of Canberra by the end of the term including:

  • Lanyon Valley (dog park)
  • Franklin (dog park)
  • Kaleen (playground)
  • Lyons (playground)

Some further design consultation will also take place this year on a range of improvements to local shops and group centres, with construction to be completed by the end of the term.
