Townsville City Council has encouraged residents in low-lying areas to take precautions ahead of tomorrow’s high tide.
The tide is forecast to reach a peak of 3.81m at 9:07am tomorrow (Thursday, 11 January 2023), 3.89m at 9:49am on Friday 12 January and 3.87m at 10:33am on Saturday 13 January.
Council recommends residents in areas that are prone to minor flooding during the tides take necessary precautions.
Suburbs like South Townsville and Railway Estate may be impacted.
Motorists are asked to observe any warnings and road closures.
