Higher than normal high tides expected to continue from Thursday 21 February 2019 to Monday 25 February 2019

The Queensland Tide tables provided by the Bureau of Meteorology advise:

A predicted tide peak of 2.60 metres (1.36 m AHD) is expected at the Brisbane Bar at approximately 11:40am on Friday.

A predicted tide peak of 2.43 metres (1.19 m AHD) is expected at the Brisbane Bar at approximately 12:21pm on Saturday.

A predicted tide peak of 2.22 metres (0.98 m AHD) is expected at the Brisbane Bar at approximately 1:04pm on Sunday.

Please note that due to current meteorological conditions caused from Topical Cyclone Oma a tidal anomaly up to 500mm may exist which may cause these tide peaks to be higher than predicted.

Minor localised flooding may be experienced in bayside, riverside and low-lying parts of nearby suburbs. Areas connected to foreshore, and tide-affected areas of the river, creeks and other waterways may also be affected.

Residents in areas prone to localised flooding due to high tides are advised to avoid parking their cars on the street during these times.
