Hobsons Bay lights up with festive glow

Hobsons Bay is set to be aglow with festive spirit this year, with a series of brightly illuminated neon installations and activations popping up across the city as part of the Hobsons Bay Festive Heart program.

Hobsons Bay Festive Heart is proudly supported by Council’s Hobsons Bay Business has Heart Outdoors program, which extended the footprint of local businesses to create outdoor trading precincts.

During December, neon hearts are sprinkled around the city, cared for by local business custodians.

This weekend, performance artists Born in A Taxi reprise their Illuminated Angels and will be appearing in Altona, Laverton and Williamstown.

Showing why Hobsons Bay is a festive creative city, A Blanck Canvas present their delightful illuminated puppets at Seaworks, in a number of family-friendly performances.

And — if that wasn’t enough — local artist David Murphy is taking a temporary illuminated artwork out for a few hours for public viewing at Logan Reserve Altona.

Roving carollers from the Salvation Army will also be spreading festive cheer, proving we really do have a festive heart.

After a challenging year, Hobsons Bay Festive Heart celebrates the festive spirit, lighting up our city with activations to delight all ages while encouraging residents to shop and dine locally to support local traders.
