Home Sustainability Workshops

Shoalhaven City Council is pleased to announce their Autumn Home Sustainability Workshops are now taking enrolments.

Shoalhaven City Council’s Waste Services will be hosting free workshops commencing February 29. The Household Sustainability workshops are an engaging way of educating residents about practical methods of incorporating waste avoidance and sustainability into their homes every day.

Mayor Amanda Findley is thrilled that Council can offer such important sustainable workshops free of charge to the community.

“Our Home Sustainability Programs hope to increase the environmental stewardship within the Shoalhaven.” Mayor Amanda Findley said.

“Council has completely funded the program, which is available free of charge to residents of the Shoalhaven only.

“Grab a neighbour or a friend and use these great workshops to connect. For some of our fire-affected communities is hard to get out and face the world, but these workshops are a great way to meet new people and learn practical skills.

“Residents need to enroll into the workshops where they can learn composting at home, introduction to worm farming, the basics of owning chickens, natural cleaning or even how to make your own beeswax wraps.” Clr Findley said.

Spaces are limited and residents are being encouraged to book their place here.

Additional workshop dates will be announced in March.
