House Destroyed In Tecoma

Firefighters are battling a house fire at Tecoma this morning, 19 March.

CFA was called to the incident on Francis Street at 5.51am today.

On arrival, firefighters found the second storey of the weatherboard home well alight.

Two occupants of the house escaped.

One person received some burns and was transported to hospital by Ambulance Victoria.

CFA issued Community Information to the Belgrave, Tecoma and Upwey communities due to smoke in the area.

The fire was brought under control at 7.12am but crews will remain on scene for some time.

The house was destroyed by the fire.

The cause will be investigated today.

CFA has 15 vehicles on scene.
