House fire in Gladstone Park

Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a suspected arson attack on a home in Gladstone Park in the early hours of this morning.

Emergency services were called to the North Circular Road home following reports the premises was fully engulfed in flames about 4.20am.

Three adults and four children were able to self-evacuate and were lucky to escape injury.

A jerry can was found at the scene and police have been told loud bangs were heard prior to the fire taking hold.

A crime scene has been established, and it is expected an arson chemist along with detectives will attend the scene throughout the day.

Police will investigate whether the fire is linked to any other recent incidents.
