CommBank Young Matildas Head Coach Leah Blayney said the matches are an opportunity to pit her side against one of the best teams in the world.

“All away games and international activity are important for our youth players, and these games are a fantastic opportunity to bring the girls abroad.

“We’ve got players who can play multiple roles within our team who all bring something different to our playing style, and when called on can execute a game plan. We know that there’s a challenge ahead and we’re really looking forward to it.”

CommBank Young Matilda Kahli Johnson said this international series will be a great experience for the team, especially in the lead up to the 2024 AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup.

“China is going to be technically very good; they’ll have a great skillset. We’ll need to focus on our own football and how we can utilise our strengths.”
