A man has been charged after ICE, cannabis and $5000 was seized in the state’s northwest.
About 1.20am today (Wednesday 10 June 2026), officers attached to Central North Police District stopped a vehicle on Fox Street, Walgett, for random testing.
The driver – a 60-year-old man – allegedly returned a positive drug test.
During a search of the man and vehicle, officers allegedly located and seized methylamphetamine, cannabis, and approximately $5000 in cash.
The man was arrested and taken to Walgett Police Station, where he underwent secondary testing, which has been sent for further testing.
He was charged with supply prohibited drug over indictable and less than commercial quantity, deal with property proceeds of crime under $100,000, possess prohibited drug, and drive motor vehicle during disqualification period.
He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 4 today (Wednesday 10 June 2026).
