“This business is a highly successful advanced manufacturing business, employing a large team of chemists and technologists with expertise in new product development,” Cr Moore said.

“Its strengths lie in innovating and adding new capabilities to the business through strong investment in science and innovation.

“As part of its strong community focus, the business has helped more than 250 community organisations through fundraising, volunteering and direct donations.

“In 2018 a $165 million state-of-the-art facility was opened right here in Hume, in the newly established Merrifield estate.

“It is equal to any of the most technically advanced factories in the world, allowing for faster, greener, safer and more efficient production.

“Additionally, the new factory created more than 60 new jobs, with most of the new employees drawn from the local area.”
