Intercept leads to significant drug seizure

Maribyrnong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man after an intercept lead to a drug seizure in Maidstone last night.

Police pulled over a Honda SUV car on Churchill Avenue in Braybook about 2.25pm.

Officers searched the vehicle and allegedly located what they believe to be 28 grams of ice and 30 grams of heroin.

Following his arrest, detectives executed a search warrant at his Maidstone property and seized a large quantity of cash, 290g of heroin, 20g of ice and 500g of precursor chemical Iodine.

The 41-year-old has been charged with traffick commercial quantity of heroin, traffick methylamphetamine, possess proceeds of crime and possess precursor chemical.

He was remanded in custody and will reappear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 2 April 2020.
