International Women’s Day 2022: Port Adelaide Enfield

Today, Tuesday 8 March, is International Women’s Day. Observed since the early 1900s, International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. Around the world, groups and communities will come together to celebrate women’s achievements and rally for women’s equality.

To recognise International Women’s Day, PAE Libraries are presenting the Australian documentary Brazen Hussies to a full house tonight at the Semaphore Odeon. It’s a revealing film celebrating the legacy of the bold women of the Women’s Liberation Movement who re-ignited the feminist revolution in Australia. Our libraries have also invited the community to attend Stitch and Resist craft sessions over the course of this week. And there are a few spots left in special coding sessions for girls between 8 and 15, to encourage them to strive for careers in STEM and improve equality for women in tech.
