Investigation after man stabbed in Kingswood

Police are investigating after a man was stabbed during a fight in Sydney’s west yesterday.

About 8.40pm (Friday 14 January 2022), emergency services were called to the Great Western Highway, Kingswood, following reports of a concern for welfare.

Upon arrival, officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command were told a group of people had argued about a noise complaint before a fight ensued.

A 46-year-old man suffered a stab wound to his shoulder. He was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

Four unknown persons – three males and a female – were seen running from the address toward a sports club on Santley Crescent, Kingswood.

A 57-year-old man was arrested however, he was released shortly after.

Police established a crime scene, and an axe was seized for forensic examination.
