Investigation into Taylors Hill fatal shooting continues

Homicide Squad detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting of a man in Taylors Hill on Sunday night.

Emergency services were called to Vaucluse Boulevard about 11.30pm on 7 May and located a man in a black BMW sedan with critical injuries.

Ambulance crews treated the man at the scene but were unable to save him.

He has since been identified as a 31-year-old Craigieburn man.

A 42-year-old Caroline Springs man, believed to be the person who shot the victim, handed himself into police this morning.

He was interviewed by police and has since been released pending further enquiries.

The search for the two other men involved in the incident remains ongoing and police are keen to speak to the pair in relation to the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Detectives are appealing for the men to come forward and make contact with police.

Investigators remain confident the parties involved are known to each other, however the nature of those relationships are still being determined.

This matter remains a significant priority for investigators and police continue to appeal for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

Detectives are also keen to speak to anyone who was in the area around Vaucluse Boulevard, Grange Terrace and Johnston Way between 11pm and midnight on Sunday, including any vehicles travelling through the area that may have dash-cam footage.
