Investigations underway after fatal crash at Jindabyne, NSW

Police have commenced investigations following a single-vehicle fatal crash in the state’s south east today.

About 5.20am (Sunday 12 December 2021), emergency services were called to The Snowy River Way at Barry Way, Jindabyne, following reports a car had left the road and hit a tree.

The sole occupant of the Ford Ranger utility was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he could not be revived.

While the male driver is yet to be formally identified, he is believed to be aged 17.

Officers attached to Monaro Police District attended and established a crime scene, which will be forensically examined by specialist police.

As inquiries into the incident continue, police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward and contact Cooma Police on (02) 6452 0099 or Crime Stoppers.

A report will be prepared for the information for the Coroner.
