Investigations underway after fatal crash at Shellharbour, NSW

Police are investigating after a fatal car and motorcycle crash in the state’s Illawarra Region today.

Just after 6.45am (Wednesday 22 December 2021), emergency services were called to the intersection of Madigan Boulevard and Lake Entrance Road, Shellharbour, following reports of a crash.

On arrival, officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District were told a car and motorcycle and been involved in a crash.

The motorcycle rider was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he could not be revived.

The driver of the car – a 61-year-old woman – was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District attended and established a crime scene, which will be forensically examined by specialist police.
