Jewellery store robbery in Sydney CBD

Police are appealing for public assistance following the robbery of a Sydney jewellery store overnight.

Just after 3.20am (Thursday 19 March 2020), police were called to the store on George Street following reports three people, armed with a baseball bat and hammers, were seen to get out of a vehicle and smash the front doors.

The trio, all wearing dark clothing and with their faces concealed, smashed display cases, stealing a large sum of jewellery before fleeing in a dark-coloured vehicle on George Street, towards the Anzac Bridge.

The store was closed at the time and no-one was injured.

Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the robbery.
