Junior OMCG member charged after firearm, stun gun and drugs seized during FPO search, NSW

South East RES have charged a junior member of the Satudarah outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) after prohibited firearms and weapons were located during Firearms and Weapons Prohibition Order (FPO and WPO) searches in the Illawarra.

As part of proactive targeting of criminal activity and prevention of violent crime in the Illawarra, investigators from South East Region Enforcement Squad attended a home at Cringila about 10am yesterday (Thursday 13 August 2020), to serve an FPO and a WPO.

Police served the orders on a 21-year-old man, before FPO/WPO searches were conducted at his Mount Warrigal home and a storage unit at Unanderra.

During the searches, police seized a rifle, two rifle scopes, various calibres of ammunition, an electronic stun device, a crudely manufactured pen gun and steroids.

The man, who is a junior member of the Satudarah OMCG, was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station.

He was charged with unauthorised possession of prohibited firearms, possess unregistered firearm – prohibited firearm, possess ammunition without holding a licence or permit to authorise, firearm etc found at premises – subject to firearms prohibition order, not keep firearm safe – prohibited firearm, possess prohibited drug and manufacture prohibited firearm without permit.

He has been refused bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court today (Friday 14 August 2020).
