Exciting news for Kempsey as Savages Lane wins the Gold Award for the Best Street Art Laneway at the Australian Street Art Awards, announced last Friday 8 March 2024.
From the mountains to the sea, the murals that adorn Savages Lane were created by 11 incredible artists to celebrate natural beauty and shared history of the picturesque Macleay Valley Coast.
A big congratulations to the artists, Kempsey Shire Council, and everyone who has made Savages Lane a must-visit spot. Thank you to the Australian Street Art Awards, who have been recognising excellence in art tourism since 2018, for putting Kempsey on the map and turning the laneway into a celebrated art destination.
