Kiama has recently hosted a wide variety of major events. Kiama Municipal Council understands there is value in events, both social and economic. We are seeking to assess this value and weigh it up against any less-desirable impacts of major events on local residents.
With Council providing the approvals for major events in this Local Government Area (LGA), they wish to understand this value and where the best balance is found. To assist in achieving this, tourism development consultancy Tilma Group is reviewing Kiama LGA’s major events.
Examples of recent major events in Kiama that attracted thousands of attendees include KISS Arts Festival, Clearly Music and Arts Festival, Changing Tides, Kiama NYE Sky Show and Red Hot Summer Tour.
Tilma Group will provide advice to Council on how to maximise the benefits of major events held in Kiama region, and how to reduce their impacts on residents.
