Labor’s latest stunt backfires

Elise Archer, Leader of the House

Labor has been caught pulling a stunt, after Dean Winter embarrassingly admitted that his Federal colleagues have exactly the same position as the Government on Marinus Link.

Leader of the House, Elise Archer, said Mr Winter this morning told ABC Radio that the Federal Labor Energy Minister Chris Bowen would not reveal the cost of Marinus.

“Mr Winter said Minister Bowen told him he is: “in confidential discussions” and “he won’t divulge the information of those negotiations”,” Minister Archer said.

“That is exactly this Government’s position.

“This Government is not prepared to damage the State’s ability to progress Marinus in the best interests of Tasmanians by revealing details that would materially impact on current contractual negotiations.

“The Rockliff Liberal Government continues to focus on what matters to Tasmanians, in stark contrast to the dangerous and deceptive Labor Opposition.

“Labor is obsessed with political stunts that are wasting Parliament’s time and doing nothing to secure Tasmania’s future.”
