Griffith City Council advises that the Lake Wyangan Picnic Area will be closed to the public from Monday 6 July 2026 to Friday 30 October 2026 to allow for irrigation upgrade works.
The closure is required to enable the supply and installation of a new irrigation pump, pump shed and irrigation system for the Lake Wyangan Recreational Area.
During this period, the entire recreation site will be closed to ensure the safety of the community and work crews while construction is underway.
Access to the Lake Wyangan caravan area will remain open.
Council appreciates the community’s patience during this time and apologises for any inconvenience caused.
