Lannen’s Lane Works To Improve Safety And Durability

Ararat Rural City Council will undertake works to replace damaged bluestone pavers at the top of Lannen’s Lane with a heavy-duty concrete pad from Monday 14 September to Friday 18 September, weather permitting.

To allow the concrete to cure safely, Lannen’s Lane will be closed between the South Right of Way intersection and Barkly Street for the duration of the works.

Footpath access will remain open, and Council will make every effort to minimise disruption to local businesses, pedestrians, and nearby traffic.

Ararat Rural City Council Chief Executive Officer Dr Tim Harrison thanked local businesses and the community for their patience while the works are completed.

“Replacing the damaged pavers with a durable concrete surface will help improve safety for pedestrians and adjoining traffic in this well-used part of the town centre,” Dr Harrison said.

“We appreciate the understanding of businesses, residents, and visitors during this short period of disruption, and encourage everyone to follow any temporary signage in place.”

Council asks pedestrians and motorists to take care near the work area and follow all traffic and pedestrian-management directions.
