Last chance to have your say on Waste Management Strategy 2021

How often do you hear the words reduce, reuse, recycle or don’t throw it away, it can be used in some other way?

Toowoomba Regional Council is urging residents to have their say on the 2021 Waste Management Strategy.

The community can provide feedback through the Your Say website until 5.00 pm, Friday 6 November 2020.

TRC Water and Waste Portfolio Leader Cr Nancy Sommerfield said Council’s waste survey closes on Friday and we’d love to hear from you.

“Council is currently running a community survey that allows our community to have a say on the direction of waste management in Toowoomba Region,” Cr Sommerfield said.

“The survey gives us all the opportunity to make sure our waste management strategy and recycling plan is heading in the right direction.

“We are all consumers and generators of waste, and we are all committed to reduce, reuse and recycle

“The survey gives you a chance to make sure our waste management strategy and recycling plan is heading in the right direction.

“You can have your say on things like how we collect waste, how we recycle and, of course, green waste management.

“Council’s focus is on turning waste into a resource rather than disposing it to landfill.

“Do you have innovative ideas about how our households and businesses can reduce waste to landfill and recycle more? The survey allows you to tell us about it.

“As a community, we want to make sure that our waste becomes a resource rather than something that goes into landfill.

“In the interest of recycling today for a better tomorrow, head to Council’s ‘your say’ website to check-in and explore ways of reducing our Region’s waste to landfills.

“Remember – it closes Friday so don’t ‘waste’ time – do it today!”

To complete the survey, please visit Council’s ‘your say’ website and fill out the Waste Management Strategy 2021 survey.

The survey will be open until 5.00 pm, Friday 6 November and can be found at www.yoursay.com.au/waste
