The cut-off date is approaching for residents to have their say on council’s plans to upgrade a section of the Coastal Pathway in Maloja and Tay Avenues, Caloundra, which will provide safer and easier access between Caloundra and Golden Beach.
The Coastal Pathway is council’s longest shared pathway stretching from Pelican Wates in the south to Coolum in the north and council is developing a plan to guide the footpath works and to meet the growing recreational needs of the community.
Division 2 Councillor Tim Dwyer said this section of the Coastal Pathway was a high priority in the Coastal Pathway Master Plan.
“We want the community to share their comments on the concept plan for this this well-loved section of pathway,” Cr Dwyer said.
“Upgrading this important link will cater for the increasing use and help keep pedestrians, cyclists and motorists safe along these roads.
“Our overall vision of the Coastal Pathway Master Plan is to develop a world class scenic coastal pathway for our community and now is the time to help shape that vision.”
The concept plan includes a proposal to convert traffic flow to one-way eastbound.
