Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following the theft of an excavator in Laverton North this month.
It is believed an offender/s have gained entry to the Leakes Road construction site, near the intersection of Interchange Drive, about 6.30am on Wednesday 19 August.
The offender/s used a white ‘cabin over truck’ prime mover and low loader trailer to remove the 14 tonne Case CX145C excavator valued at over $200,000.
The stolen equipment was last seen on the trailer travelling north bound on Fitzgerald Road.
Detectives have released CCTV of the truck carrying the excavator.
An image of the excavator has also been released in the hope someone can provide information on its current whereabouts.
