A leading senior constable from Southern Region has been charged with assault following an internal investigation.
The 61-year-old male officer has been charged with one count each of unlawful assault and assault with a weapon.
The charges relate to an incident while the officer was on-duty in Noble Park on 4 August 2021.
He has been summonsed to appear before court at a later date.
