New and beginner drivers in the Territory are encouraged toenrol in the safe road user program; DriveSafe NT.
The driver education, training and licencing programprovides Territorians the opportunity to gain the essential knowledge andskills to be a safe road user, promoting safe driving practices and providing competencybased driver training and awareness.
Participants receive education and training by qualifieddriving instructors and assessors, as well as more than $600 in subsidiestowards obtaining a drivers licence, including:
A DriveSafe NT participant pack and coursematerials;
Road law theory and road safety education;
Free Learner (L) and provisional (P) licences;
Subsidised driving lessons or access to trainedsupervising drivers;
Two free attempts at the practical drivingassessment;
