Liberal Minority Government and Liberal Party in disarray 13 July 2023

Jeremy Rockliff’s MPs, staff and the party rank and file are abandoning him because he’s lost touch, doesn’t listen and isn’t transparent.

His government is tired, has lost its way after ten years and the Liberal party is now fighting amongst itself.

Long-term Liberal Party members in North-Eastern Tasmania are the latest to cut ties with the embattled Premier saying they are being ignored. So many members from the area have quit that the branch is now in recess.

They join former MPs Lara Alexander and John Tucker and a parade of Rockliff’s staff in fleeing for the exits.

Mr Tucker and Mrs Alexander told WIN News last night that Mr Rockliff is poorly leading a secretive and arrogant Government and they’re glad to have left.

Dorset Mayor Greg Howard has quit the Liberals and says branch members felt ignored on major issues including local government reform and have torn up their memberships.

Former Liberal candidate and George Town Mayor Greg Kieser has also said that he can’t see any reasons for council mergers.

No wonder Rockliff’s MPs are quitting and at least one Liberal Member of the Legislative Council is openly saying they’ll cross the floor on the issue.

Farmers reap what they sow and Jeremy Rockliff’s secretive and dodgy approach to the state’s top job has been a disaster.
