to justify plunging the state into one billion dollars’ debt

Peter Gutwein has failed to
justify plunging the state into more than one billion dollars’ worth of debt
with claims that a record amount is being spent on infrastructure.
Shadow Infrastructure
Minister, Shane Broad, said that the Premiers claims of a record infrastructure
spend are blatantly untrue considering many infrastructure projects have been
plagued by delays or are yet to get off the ground.
“Peter Gutwein has failed to
spend almost a quarter of the infrastructure budget every year for the last six
years,” Dr Broad said.
“While the Liberals continue
to boast a record infrastructure spend, the truth is they have neither the will
nor the skill to deliver the large infrastructure projects that are so crucial
to state growth and job creation, including the
Bridgewater Bridge, the Royal Hobart Hospital and the new TT-Line vessels.
“It’s clear Tasmania’s new
Premier has no infrastructure agenda, other than what was dreamed up by the embattled
leadership wannabe, Michael Ferguson.
“Peter Gutwein is plunging
the state into unsustainable debt and has no major infrastructure project to
show for it.
“Tasmanians deserve a
Government that plans for the future and delivers.”
