Wyndham City’s Living Your Best Life Event is returning on 31 March 2022, to equip attendees with the skills and knowledge required to access local services and stay safe.
The Living Your Best Life Event aims to help Wyndham residents to get connected, be informed, and take control of their life.
Wyndham City Mayor Councillor Peter Maynard said: “This Event has been much anticipated since being rescheduled from August 2021 due to the pandemic, and we know our residents are still very keen to speak face-to-face with key services in Wyndham, directly and safely.”
The free Living Your Best Life event will feature presentations, stalls and service providers who will offer attendees information on financial counselling, scams, emergency planning, safety information, legal rights and how to build strong community connections.
Living Your Best Life stalls will run from 9am – 5pm. Feature sessions include Victoria Police’s ‘Confident Living’ which focusses on safety in the community as well as Fire Rescue Victoria’s ‘Being Prepared’ for emergencies.
The Council on the Ageing will also be hosting a presentation on Ageing Wellbeing and Safety.
“Council is aware that unfortunately throughout the pandemic, some of the City’s most vulnerable residents have been the targets of scams and we have a number of local services that can help residents be aware and confident to refer this on appropriate authorities”, Cr Maynard said.
“Residents may wish to consider the Coffee with a Cop session at 10:30am and 2:30pm, which is a great opportunity to have a chat with Victoria Police around strategies to stay safe in community.”
“This event is a great opportunity for residents to learn about new offerings and providers in the area, particularly since the pandemic so drastically changed the way we live and access services”, Cr Maynard said.
