Love Local Connect and Create: Artists features the work of local artists such as Eloise Short, whose beautiful illustrations feature in the Blue Mountains themed children’s book series, Leonard and Lilah the Lyrebird.

Other artists showcased in the series include Alison James, Fiona Loeb, Hannah Surtees, Lauren Gero, Meredith Mallin and Lorraine Brownlee who have all provided a wide range of activities which both kids and adults can do from home. The activities range from intricate colouring in sheets, to instructions on how to paint rocks, flowers and sticks, or how to make a koala mobile.

Blue Mountains Mayor, Cr Mark Greenhill, said: “As we begin to emerge from the extended lockdown, and the home-schooling period comes to an end, Council is providing a range of activities to support local families and provide fun alternatives to screen-time.

“The Love Local Connect and Create series encourages local residents to participate in a range of art, craft and cooking activities.”

Love Local Connect and Create: Recipes gives local residents access to sumptuous, bespoke recipes from some of the Blue Mountains’ best loved chefs and restaurants. Restaurants featured in the series include the newly opened Pizza Sublime in Leura, Vincent Diner in Glenbrook, The Parade Espresso Bar & Food Emporium in Hazelbrook, Arrana in Springwood and Nook in Blaxland.

Recipes gifted to the community from these businesses include dishes like sun-dried tomato arancini, smoked beetroot, goats cheese mousse, pistachio ‘soil’ and lavosh as well as roman style proscuitto pizza.
