M4 multi-vehicle crash inquiry continues in Prospect

An investigation is underway and 21 people needed medical assessment after a multi-vehicle crash on the M4 at Prospect yesterday.

Officers from Blacktown Police Area Command were called to the motorway about 4.30pm (Friday 2 December 2022), and found eight vehicles including a truck, all westbound, had collided.

A total of 21 people were assessed on the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics with three – two men and a woman – taken to Westmead Hospital for further assessment.

The driver of the truck, a 46-year-old man, was taken to Blacktown Hospital for mandatory testing.

Ten of those checked were school children travelling in a Hiace van. All escaped injury.

The incident caused significant traffic delays westbound.
