Macquarie Bank Limited – Non-Executive Director Change

Macquarie Bank (ASX: MBL) Chair Glenn Stevens today announced that after more than four years of service, Ian Saines will step down as an Independent Voting Director of the MBL Board effective immediately to take another board position that draws on his substantial experience in the financial services industry.

That experience, including senior roles at Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Challenger, Zurich Financial Services, Bankers Trust Australia and the Reserve Bank of Australia, has been invaluable to the MBL Board since Mr Saines was appointed in June 2022.

Mr Stevens said, “The Board would like to thank Ian for his considerable contribution and commitment to Macquarie as our first bank-only non-executive director. I have greatly appreciated Ian’s insights and counsel over the past four years and the role he has played as Chair of the MBL Board Conflicts Committee.”

Mr Saines chaired the MBL Board Conflicts Committee and was a member of the MBL Board Risk and Remuneration Committees. An announcement regarding Mr Saines’ replacement will be made in due course. Wayne Byres, an Independent Voting Director of MBL since February 2024, will become Chair of the MBL Board Conflicts Committee.
